   Proposal Description:
   This study examined biological sex differences in brain structures in relation to mild cognitive impairment and probable Alzheimer?s disease development. A secondary data analysis of the National Alzheimer?s Coordinating Center Uniform Data Set was undertaken, specifically in participants with normal cognition at baseline (n=12,006), and a subsample with complete MRI data (n=562). Survival analysis was utilized to examine if hippocampal volume and white matter hyperintensities at baseline predicted progression to probable AD or MCI after 2 to 11 yearly visits. The difference in progression rates between males and females was investigated.
